iOS 6.1.1 Beta Doesn’t Patch Exploits Of Evasi0n Untethered Tool

The evad3rs jailbreak team released evasi0n 1.1 yesterday to fix some bugs found in their exploit for jailbreaking iOS 6.0-6.1.

Apple also seeded iOS 6.1.1 to developers the same day, which led to claims that all the exploits will be patched when it’s released to the public.

However, Pod2g has made an interesting announcement, stating the latest firmware version doesn’t patch the exploits used in the evasi0n tool.

Looks like it may be just a coincidence that Apple seeded iOS 6.1.1 to developers’ couple of days after the jailbreak.

Pod2g does believe Apple will patch the exploit in later firmware releases.

He mentions that while there are no exploit patches, he recommends that users looking to jailbreak their device on iOS 6.0-6.1 to stay away from the update, as evasi0n 1.1 is not compatible with iOS 6.1.1 at this time.

iOS 6.1.1 brings improvements in Maps in different countries and Siri for Japan, and apart from these upgrades, there’s nothing major.
