Today has been an exciting day for Apple product users, with the official announcements of the long-awaited Apple Watch and iPhone 6, along with many other new product and service releases.

This morning, Apple held a special media event dedicated to these special product launches. This page provides a brief overview of the highlights from today’s event.

iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 is possibly the most significant update the iPhone has ever seen, in terms of appearance. It is being released in two new screen sizes: 4.7 inches (iPhone 6) and 5.5 inches (iPhone 6 Plus).

They feature a new “Retina HD” display, ion-strengthened glass, and an ultra-thin backlight.

The new iPhones are also the thinnest iPhones yet, and feature a new A8 mobile processor, which is 25% faster and 50% more energy-efficient than the previous-generation A7.

Enhanced cameras have been added with a new sensor and faster auto-focus.

The iPhone 6 will be available starting at $199 for a 16GB version, and will come in Silver, Gold and Space Gray. The iPhone 6 Plus will start at $299. Both phones will become available to buy starting September 17th, with preorders beginning September 12th.

Apple Watch

Apple has officially entered the realm of “wearable technology” with their new Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch allows the wearer to access common apps like Messages and Maps, along with services like GPS and Siri.

The Apple Watch will begin an entire new range of products, and is fully customizable with various watch faces and bands.

An iPhone is required in order to use the Apple Watch, as the two are seamlessly in sync with each other.
