Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are downplaying rumors of having twins in March.
The speculation of Mariah Carey having twins began when she referred to ‘they’ instead of ‘he’, ‘she. or ‘it’ when discussing her pregnancy. US Weekly reports that Nick Cannon said that started the rumor mill, he stated that the ‘they’ she was referencing was them – the mother and father to be.
While she confirmed her pregnancy in October, the attention that Mariah Carey’s pregnancy has received was ramped on Monday evening when she appeared – very pregnant – on her ABC Christmas special. This is the second pregnancy for the songstress. Her first pregnancy, which occurred soon after her marriage to Nick Cannon, ended in miscarriage.
During the special, Carey performed with her opera singing mother, Patricia, singing a duet from her new album. ‘Many people know that my mother is a trained opera singer, so I guess it was only a matter of time before we both got onto a record together,” said Carey. ‘It was a lovely experience being in the studio together, and I’m very happy that I have this documented for the rest of my life.’
The mother/daughter team sang O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah for the album, Merry Christmas II You.
