Jaguar Reveals It’s First Ever SUV – The F-Pace

Jaguar has let their guard down and given us a preview image of the 2016 F-Pace SUV which will be making its international debut at the Frankfurt International Automobil-Ausstellung (autoshow) held from September 17 – 27.

Jag has really upped their game in recent years with cars like the F-Type, the XE and the beautiful remodel of the XJ and XK lines. So what can we expect from the F-Pace?

Given that Jag and Land Rover are one and the same, a Jag SUV should be sporty, elegant and have real off road ability (should they desire to endow it with the Land Rover DNA).

The F-Pace is being heralded as a sports SUV, and with the staggering performance the company has displayed in the Range Rover Sport, the F-Pace certainly has the promise of performance.

By using light all-aluminum architecture, double wishbone front and integral link rear suspension the F-Pace is said to deliver exceptional handling and ride comfort.

By incorporating the torque vectoring technology found in the F-Type, a torque on demand AWD system and electric power assisted steering the F-Pace should have a connected feel and offer great feedback to the driver.

Jaguar has put their first ever SUV through some demanding testing that included extreme climates: -40°F to 122°F (-40°C to +50°C), mountain passes on rough gravel paths, dusty roads in Dubai and snow covered roads in Sweden’s north. All of this was done to ensure the F-Pace can deliver on the AWD SUV promise of go anywhere performance.

When it is displayed at the Frankfurt show, the F-PACE, on sale in North America as of mid-2016, will be joined by a trio of new Jaguar products – the enhanced 2016 Jaguar XJ and the all-new XF, which will both be available beginning Fall 2015, along with the new Jaguar XE, available Spring 2016. Also on display will be the AWD F-Type.
