Jared Leto Could Play Doctor Stange

With news breaking earlier this week that Marvel Studios has chosen Scott Derrickson to direct its upcoming Doctor Strange movie, the next question is who will be playing the lead role in the movie, and the answer could be recent Oscar winner Jared Leto.

Badass Digest is reporting that Marvel likes Leto for the part of Stephen Strange, and fresh off his Best Supporting Oscar win for Dallas Buyers Club, Leto is one of the names in contention for Doctor Strange.

Leto could be a good fit for the part, as he has some name recognition after his Oscar win, but he’s been in so few movies that he hasn’t over-saturated audiences, which could be a good thing.  He also has the looks and talent Marvel would want for the part.

Of course, Leto is notoriously picky when he comes to roles, claiming he had such a long hiatus prior to Dallas Buyers Club because of a lack of quality material.  He also devotes a lot of his time to his band, Thirty Seconds To Mars, so it could take a perfect storm to get Leto on board for Doctor Strange.

What do you think about Leto starring in Doctor Strange?  Would you see the movie with Leto playing the lead?  Let us know below.
