There are a number of legitimate July 4th fireworks shows streaming online today.
Beatriz Cortez, from Fox 5 San Diego, told Consumer Press “The Big Bay Boom Fireworks show will be streaming live on our website www.fox5sandiego.com from 8pm-11pm.”
The actual fireworks in San Diego are set to begin at 9pm (PT). Perfect for east coasters to watch their local fireworks and then head to their computers at midnight to watch the excitement on the west coast.
Peter Casey, Director of News & Programming at WBZ NewsRadio 1030 in Boston, told us they’ll have a live video stream of the concert and fireworks in Boston on CBSBoston.com.
That was early on July 3 though, and due to Hurricane Arthur, the Boston fireworks ended up being moved up to that evening. So this event has already come and gone.
update: Casey just contacted us to say a rebroadcast of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will be available streaming online later today at: bostonpopsjuly4th.org.
The famous Macy’s fireworks show in NYC will be available on NBC.com. The fireworks are set to start at 9:20pm (ET).
Earthcam has July 4th fireworks feeds from a variety of cities across the country on their site here.
update: We just heard from the Navy Pier in Chicago. The fireworks there will be streamed live starting at 9:30pm (CT) on wgntv.com.
Consumer Press has alerted consumers to malware laden sites advertising live streaming of July 4th fireworks in the past. They often require nefarious downloads or other tasks a user must complete before viewing feeds. Often those feeds never materialize, and users end up with malware/adware installed on their computers.
