KFC has joined hands with NASCAR car driver Clint Bowyer for promoting its Original Recipe Boneless.
They sponsored Bowyer’s 15 Toyota. at the Southern 500.
KFC Chief Marketing Officer Jason Marker said “The KFC team is thrilled to be partnering with Clint and the Michael Waltrip Racing team at Darlington this weekend. Original Recipe Boneless has been the talk of the country for the past few weeks and it’s exciting to be ‘riding along’ with Clint during the legendary Southern 500.”
Bowyer finished in the top 5 four times in 10 races this season.
KFC is also promoting the newest item on the menu through ‘I Ate the Bones’ Facebook contest.
Consumers can participate by posting their best ‘I Ate the Bones’ reaction through an image or video.
The entries can be sent through Facebook, Vine, Twitter and Instagram.
Participants can also share entries with their friends and family who can vote for them.
Submissions should be accompanied by the hashtag #iatethebones.
Weekly winners will be announced through June 8, and they’ll receive gift checks and an ‘I Ate the Bones’ t-shirt.
5 Grand Prize winners will receive $1000 and a chance to appear in the company’s online or social media ad in 2014.
Residents from 48 contiguous states and DC 18 years or above can participate in the contest. It’s only open for US residents.
