Kim Kardashian filed a law suit on Wednesday claiming that the clothing store Old Navy used an actress that looked exactly like her in one of their ads.
Kardashian says that Old Navy used actress Mellisa Monaro and that this actress looks too much like her. Kim Kardashian says that her look is her trademark. According to the lawsuit: “purposely designed to intend to confuse, to cause mistake, and to deceive the public (making them think that Kim Kardashian had something to do with the ad).”
Kim Kardashian’s lawyer Gary Hecker commented: “Kim Kardashian is immediately recognizable and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them.”
The actress in the commercial, Melissa Monaro says that she was simply acting like a star. She says that the audition asked them to dress like a star and that she never intended to look like Kim Kardashian.
To add to this story, there are rumors going around that the actress in the Old Navy commercial, Mellisa Monaro, is currently dating Reggie Bush who recently split with Kim Kardashian.
