In a statement that almost went unnoticed on a Fox News affiliate in Philadelphia, Kurt Russell dropped some knowledge about when Quentin Tarantino will begin filming his next movie, The Hateful Eight, which will star Russell, among many others.
The world was pleasantly surprised back in May when Tarantino decided to go ahead and shoot The Hateful Eight, which he previously said he wouldn’t turn into a film after the script was leaked online in January.
Russell was on the show in Philadelphia discussing other things, but at one point said: “I’ve got a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year.”
Tarantino wanted to begin shooting for The Hateful Eight, a western that’s said to share similarities to past Tarantino movies Reservoir Dogs and his last film Django Unchained, in the fall, but it seems he couldn’t get the schedules for all of the actors lined up until 2015.
Russell is set to play one of the leads in The Hateful Eight along with Samuel L. Jackson and a host of other big names such as Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, and Amber Tamblyn.
