Mark Millar Sounds Off On Kick-Ass 3

With the recent release of Kick-Ass 3 in comic book form, it has stirred up some interest in completing the film version of the series with the third installment that will follow last year’s Kick-Ass 2.  However, Mark Millar, who wrote the comic books, has his doubts about the third movie getting made.

In a recent interview, Millar mentioned that the first two movies were both profitable, although the sequel not quite as profitable as the first.  “But does that mean we’ll make another one again?” Millar asked, “I don’t know. It’s definitely up in the air, and we’ll just have to see.”

Millar adds that Matthew Vaughn, who produced the Kick-Ass movies, wrote the screenplay for the first one, and owns the movie rights, will ultimately make the decision on Kick-Ass 3.  “If he (Vaughn) decides he does want to do it, I know he’ll get it done well,” Millar concluded.

Millar also added that he and Vaughn speak every day, but they have not discussed doing Kick-Ass 3.  Considering the blossoming careers of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz, there isn’t much time to waste.

The comments from Millar come about a month after Moretz said a third movie was doubtful, blaming it on too many fans pirating the sequel instead of buying a ticket to see it.
