Mark Zuckerberg Unveiled New Profile Page Design for Facebook

Sunday night on 60 Minutes Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Facebook’s new profile page design.  The new design is more focused on photos, displaying a larger profile picture and highlighting your five most recently tagged photos.  Your profile information is positioned prominently at the top of the new page, including the schools you attended, employment, location where you live, birthday and any other information you have listed.

The new design has more emphasis on your relationships and now when you visit a friend’s page it displays what you have in common.  “You can see all the things that you have in common with that person. And it gives you this amazing connection with that person in a way that the current version of the profile that we have today just doesn’t do,” says Zuckerberg.

The site’s location-based Places check in is encouraged, allowing “likers” to check into the page.  The navigation tabs are on the left hand corner on Facebook’s new profile page design.

The unveiling of Facebook’s new design comes hot off the heels of Facebook’s new e-messaging, which Zuckerberg announced in November.
