Mortal Kombat X Announced – View The Trailer Now

The tenth game in the Mortal Kombat franchise was announced and a teaser trailer with a fight between Sub-Zero and Scorpion was released. Mortal Kombat X will appear in 2015 and more details will be presented at E3 2014.

Game creator Ed Boon has been hinting at the announcement for some time and now that it is official, gaming fans from all around the world are excited. In a press release, Boon declared:

Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilize the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet. The team has worked hard to make sure Mortal Kombat X delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all new graphics engine.

Sub-Zero and Scorpion are a part of the game’s roster but nothing is known yet about other characters, especially the “new challengers”.

Mortal Kombat X will be a test for the franchise. As the 2011 game managed to reboot the entire brand, the tenth installment might complicate it. That is because this is the first game in the entire series that allows players to choose from different character variations, a move that will impact fighting style and strategy.

Until new information is available for gaming fans from around the world, the trailer below showcases a sleek look and possible new features that are expected:
