New 3D Smart TV Package Features Better Picture, 7 Pairs 3D Glasses & Wifi

In just two days, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show will begin in Berlin.  IFA in Berlin, the global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, presents the latest products and innovations in the heart of Europe‘s most important regional market, and when it opens on 10am on Friday, LG’s new products in its Cinema 3D lineup will be showcased.

The LG LW980T series offers CINEMA 3D and SmartTV.  Central to the product is LG’s NANO FULL LED technology with a screen that creates brighter, clearer and smoother pictures and allows for an even thinner screen. LG claims the technology provides the best in 2D, 3D and SmartTV functionality.  The entertainment package also includes seven pairs of 3D glasses, built in Wi-Fi and an advanced remote control.  LG calls it “Next Generation TV.”

SmartTV remains a key focus for LG in 2011, and the award-winning platform boasts over 175 different applications ranging from BBC iPlayer for the TV digital recording, over 9,000 movies and TV titles via subscription services, and children’s entertainment from the Cartoon Network.  The integration of various entertainment technologies into a single package is designed to capitalize on the inroads LG has already developed.

Stephen Gater, Consumer Electronics Marketing Director, commented, “The first half of 2011 has seen LG grow significantly in the 3D market, with its unique CINEMA 3D technology. The new products we’re launching at IFA 2011 will further enhance this range, offering consumers the best in 2D, 3D and SmartTV in one neat package for the ultimate in home entertainment. LG is committed to its role as an industry leader and its continued development of cutting edge technologies will ensure that the very best products are available for consumers.”

On Tuesday morning, consumers will have their first opportunity to put that commitment to the test.
