New Capcom Strider Game Announced: Trailer & Gameplay Footage [Video]

In March there were rumors that Capcom was going to release a new Strider game.

That rumor is now confirmed. The digital release of the new game will happen in 2014 and it will be available for XBox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4.

The actual developers of the game will be Double Helix, well known for Killer Instinct.

The official release highlighted the fact that Strider will have:

“..an ultra-responsive control system, with incredibly satisfying combat options in every traversal context-standing, running, wall climbing, hanging, aerial and more.”

It was also announced that the game environment will be non-linear and the gamer can revisit levels. The story goes like this:

“Hiryu, the youngest ever Super A ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age.”

The first Strider game appeared in 1989 as a platform arcade game with a Nintendo Entertainment System version. There was a manga adaptation and Strider 2 hit the market in 1999 for PlayStation.

Below you can find the trailer for the new Strider game and you can also see gameplay footage in the other video. How do you think the game looks?
