Cyber Monday: Nexus 5X $80 Off , $12.46/Month Thru Project Fi

Google is offering an $80 discount on the brand new Google Nexus 5X smartphone in a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale from today through November 30 (or until sold out).

Unfortunately, the discount does not extend to the new Google Nexus 6P.

Released just last month, most experts did not expect Google to discount either of these phones for Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

For those of you that already have an invite to Project Fi, Google’s new cell phone service, the $80 discount does apply to the financing option.

The 16 GB version of the phone can be financed through Project Fi over two years for $12.46 per month (normally $15.79), according to a Google Project Fi customer support rep we spoke to this morning.

The 32 GB version can be financed for $14.54 per month (normally $17.88).

Google does not charge an interest on phones financed through Project Fi.

If you don’t have a Google Project Fi invite though, it’s probably too late to get one in time to take advantage of this sale. Invites can be requested here, but it usually takes several weeks for the invite to come through.

Project Fi carries calls through Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s data networks. Unlimited calls and texts cost $20 per month. Data can be pre-purchased by the gigabyte and a credit is applied to the following month for unused data.

Whether purchased through the Google Store or Project Fi, the phone comes unlocked and can be used with other carriers.

The Nexus 5X also comes with 90 days of Google Play Music, which can be continued for $9.99 per month after the free trial.

The $80 discount on the Nexus 5X  is also available through Amazon.

Will you be taking advantage of this deal?
