Barnes and Noble will drop the price of the Nook Simple Touch to $79 starting on Sunday, December 9th. This offer gives shoppers an opportunity to save $20 on the popular eReader.
The award-winning Nook Simple Touch is going to be a steal at the newly discounted price of $79. It appears that Barnes and Noble is getting ahead of the Green Monday sales blitz.
This is the second lowest price that the Nook Simple Touch has been available at. The model was on sale for $60 on Black Friday of this year. Even so, the newly discounted price of $79 is a great opportunity for shoppers.
“Just in time for the holidays, the new low pricing makes the critically acclaimed NOOK Simple Touch a terrific, affordable gift for anyone on the gift list,” said Jaime Iannone, president of digital products at NOOK Media LLC.
The Nook Simple Touch will be available at hundreds of Barnes and Noble locations, online at www.nook.com, and at retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart and Target.
Features of the Nook Simple Touch include a high-contrast Pearl E-Ink display. The black and white touch screen is glare-free and highly responsive, offering ease of use when flipping pages and navigating menus.
In addition, the Nook Simple Touch is equipped with Wi-Fi, so it’s easy to download books from the Barnes and Noble online store. Shoppers also have the ability to access EPub library loans.
According to the Barnes and Noble website, the Nook Simple Touch has a battery life of over 2 months, based on 30 minutes of reading a day.
The Nook Simple Touch is lightweight and has a rubberized backing. It includes an expansion slot for additional memory.
Some drawbacks of the Nook Simple Touch are the lack of audio support, no web browser, as well as there being no option for 3G wireless connectivity. The rubberized backing also attracts fingerprint marks.
