Online Retailers Sounding ‘Last Call’ For Holiday Shopping

The clock to Christmas Day is ticking down.

Most major online retailers have announced that today is the last day to place orders with standard shipping to arrive before Christmas day. Many are offering two day shipping on orders placed tomorrow for arrival by Christmas eve. The times, dates, and shipping methods listed below are for delivery by December 24 (Saturday) within the US mainland.

Amazon.com is a destination for many of us last-minute shoppers… and they have the Shipping-Deadlines-Nearmost options that comes to shipping. According to their website, yesterday was the last day for standard shipping. For today and tomorrow prior to 8 PM Pacific Time, they are recommending two day shipping. After 8 PM Wednesday and Thursday they recommend one day shipping. Amazon also offers Amazon Prime members Last-Minute Christmas Delivery on select items on Friday, December 23. Local Express Delivery is available in certain locations on Christmas Eve. The Express Delivery cost for most items is $8.99 plus $.99 per item. The locations and deadlines for same day delivery are: Baltimore, 10:30 AM; Boston, 10:30 AM; Chicago, 7 AM; Indianapolis, 7 AM; Las Vegas, 11 AM; New York City and parts of New Jersey, 10 AM; Philadelphia, 10 AM; Phoenix, 9:30 AM; Seattle, 1 PM; Washington, DC, 10:30 AM.

Walmart.com has announced that today is the last day for standard shipping for arrival by Christmas Eve. Tomorrow they recommend rush shipping. Up to Friday the 23rd, orders for select products can be placed for local in-store pickup. Those items must be picked up by 6 PM local time on Christmas Eve.

Barnes & Noble recommends express shipping on items purchased today that are marked that they usually ship within 24 hours. According to their site, if the item is marked that it usually ships within two or three days, and any order placed after tomorrow, will not arrive by December 24.

Target.com lists today as the final day for their ‘seasonal shipping’ for arrival by Christmas Eve. Not all products on Target.com qualify for seasonal shipping, those that are are marked.

JCPenney says that today is their last day for standard shipping for arrival by Christmas Eve. They recommend express shipping on products ordered tomorrow.

BestBuy.com also lists today is the final day for standard shipping. According to their site, shoppers can place orders for in-store pickup as late as 3 PM local time on Christmas Eve.
