Singer Prince Dead At 57: The Latest Info For Fans & Ticketholders

Larger-than-life pop star Prince, known for his eclectic sound and one-of-a-kind style, died today at the age of 57.

A statement was released by his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, confirming his death:”It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57.”

As of now there is no word on the cause of death; police are at the home investigating.

Reports indicate he was found unconcious in hos elevator and could not be revived by EMS workers.

The singer had been ill recently, with his plane making an emergency landing after a concert in Atlanta on April 15th.

However, it was reportedly nothing serious, as he appeared at a concert the next evening and told TMZ he was “battling the flu.”

Prince has several concerts scheduled; as of now there is no word on what will happen to ticket-holders for those concerts.

Those with tickets can call the box office or site where they purchased hem for instructions.

Prince won seven Grammy Awards, and had 30 nominations. Five of his singles went to #1 and 14 other songs hit the Top 10.

He won an Oscar for original song score for film “Purple Rain.

In addition to making ground-breaking music and pioneering “the Minneapolis sound,” he also paved the way for artistic creativity and freedom.
