I finally jumped on the Beautyblender bandwagon.
I didn’t want to do a full review of this product right away because I wanted to give myself time to properly test out the tool and complete some trial and error.
The end result?
It’s pretty good. But it’s not a holy-grail product.
The Beautyblender sponge cost me $20.00. That’s expensive for a sponge. Granted, a nice brush will cost you the same price or significantly more. However, a nice brush, when well taken care of, can last you a lifetime. This sponge is only meant to last 3-4 months.
I discovered through the Beautyblender that I prefer applying my foundation with a sponge rather than a brush.
With that being said, it does not need to be this particular sponge.
I’ve found that triangle sponges from the drugstore work just as well. Yes, it’s convenient to have a large rounded end and a small tapered end. However, I find that I end up using the sponge to apply the foundation and blending it in with my fingers.
Overall, I think the Beautyblender a great concept and a great product. However, I would not spend $20.00 on it a second time.
