Have you ever thought that Robert Pattinson looks like a young Harrison Ford? If you’ve never had that thought, you may have it at some point, as rumors are circulating that Pattinson is on a short list of actors in consideration to play the lead in a re-boot of Indiana Jones.
A re-boot of the Indiana Jones seems inevitable, and with Ford getting on in years, and now getting involved with the new Star Wars movie, it’s unlikely that he’ll return to the role, which means it’ll be open for just about anybody to take.
One insider has said that “Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise. They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels.”
As for Pattinson taking over the lead role, the insider says: “Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight,” adding “But the competition will be stiff.”
Of course, there’s also the issue of Pattinson wanting a role in another marquee franchise. He has three films slated for release later this year, and he has a few more projects lined up for next year as well. Whether anything will come of the rumors linking Pattinson with Indiana Jones, time will only tell.
