Chief Executive officer of publishing at Activision, Eric Hirshberg, says he and the company would be glad to see the Nintendo’s Wii U perform well in the console market.
Seeking Alpha reports that in a call with investors, Hirshberg stated ‘we’ve done well despite weaknesses for both the Wii and the Wii U and seeing Wii U take off would be great, but remains to be seen.’
Skylanders, a popular video game and toy mix, is available on the Wii U and an increase in sales would lead to a greater revenue stream for Activision.
The new console from Nintendo hasn’t done as well as was expected, but the company is looking to bring back sales, which may mean a reduction in prices.
Activision also has plans for Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox 720, both of which are expected to launch in time for Christmas, 2013.
