Showtime has announced the return of hit shows Shameless, House of Lies, and Californication with all-new seasons starting January 13, 2013.
The Sunday night block of programming, affectionately being dubbed Sinful Sundays, starts at 9pm ET/PT with the third season of Shameless. The second season of House of Lies comes next at 10pm ET/PT, followed by the sixth season of Californication at 10:30pm ET/PT
The third season of Shameless takes place months after the end season two. Fiona (Emmy Rossum) starts questioning her long-term relationship with Jimmy (Justin Chatwin) , and Frank (William H. Macy) winds up in Mexico. How? Even he doesn’t know! Showtime says the Gallaghers will be “seeking their own unique version of the ‘American Dream'” this season.
The second season of House of Lies returns Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda, Iron Man 2) to the role of Galweather Storm power-player Marty Kaan. This season, Marty and his crack team of young corporate devils (“The Pod”) must deal with fallout from last season’s finale. Showtime calls the show “a timely comedy that dives head-first into the shark tank known as corporate America.”
Californication continues into its sixth season with Hank Moody (David Duchovny) continuing to (kinda) do his best to be a good father to his daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin). Lost alumni Maggie Grace and Jorge Garcia guest star this season. Grace will be in nine episodes playing a rock groupie named Faith that has an unconventional relationship with Moody. Garcia will guest star in two episodes as someone from Faith’s past. Details on the relationship between Grace’s and Garcia’s characters’ relationship remain sketchy.
Also guest starring this season will be comedian Tim Minchin in the role of a rock star that’s adapting Moody’s novel into a Broadway rock-opera, and real life rock star Marilyn Manson will be playing himself.
All three shows will be premiering at the start of the new year on January 13.
