Online Shoppers are seeing red over what they perceive to be Amazon’s unfair Christmas delivery options, as the retail giant is unable to guarantee some packages unless they are shipped directly from Amazon and that comes at a price.
After speaking with several shoppers and doing some research of our own Consumer Press has discovered that Amazon should be getting coal from Santa this year for their holiday delivery service.
Consumers shop online because it is convenient, but Amazon, the giant of online retail is making it anything but easy as a fair amount of items show possible after Christmas delivery dates.
Some of these items include a Syma RC Quad Copter with camera (estimated delivery December 24- Jan 9) and a Boublju Womne’s Doble-Breasted Peacoat (estimated delivery Jan 13- Feb 2).
Neither of these items is eligible for Amazon Prime shipping and the RC copter actually says Christmas delivery until you get to the checkout.
The woman’s coat estimated delivery date is particularity baffling as it is in-stock and is supposed to ship in 3-4 days.
Those who have the option of getting their gift through Amazon Prime shipping, can expect to pay more.
Miriam Rodriguez , a loyal Amazon Customer, says she attempted to purchase a women’s jewelry watch box, but it was not eligible for Prime shipping, so she decided to look for one that was.
The original box cost $29.99 with a glass top: similar cases available through Prime started at $39.99 or more.
Mark Johnson, another longtime customer says he is also frustrated by Amazon’s limited delivery choices this year, as he was forced to purchase a Ken Follett Unabridged CD collection from a buyer he’s never used to ensure on-time delivery.
We spoke with a Amazon representative, who said in a statement that: “Amazon is doing everything possible to get gifts out in time and that dates are estimates, so many will arrive early. However, gifts coming from sellers other than Amazon can not be guaranteed as their shipping dates are out of the company’s control ”
When asked about Mrs. Rodriguez’s issue she told us there are several lower priced options. However, when we searched the Amazon site we discovered there were none with a glass top for less than $40.
