Owners of Xbox One console will now have direct access to live TV streaming service, Sling TV. Furthermore, this new feature comes with a free 1-month trial.
Dish Network’s Sling TV allows users to watch live TV on multiple devices including laptops, smartphones (both Android and Apple), Amazon Fire TV box and tablets. Popular channels available with this service include AMC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Lifetime, History Channel, TNT and HGTV.
All current Xbox One console owners will simply need to download the Sling TV app and sign up to enjoy this service for a period of 30 days.
After the free trial period, those who are interested to keep this TV streaming service will have to pay $20 per month for its so called “Best of Live TV” core package. Additional channel packs will cost $5 per month.
The deal gets more interesting for those who are thinking of getting an Xbox One console. Starting March 17 until March 22, Microsoft is offering free Sling TV for three months for the first five thousand customers to buy this console in any Microsoft retail store or online at MicrosoftStore.com.
Xbox One is the first video game console to offer live TV streaming. At this point there is no word yet if this service will be available on PlayStation 4 because Sony is developing its own online TV streaming service called PlayStation Vue.
