“Song Reader” New Album from Beck Based on Previous Music

Back in 2012, the musician Beck released sheet music for several songs.

Now he has worked with other musicians to cover the songs he wrote previously and turn them into the album “Song Reader,” out now, and release signature glasses with Warby Parker.

Releasing a group of sheet music was a bold move. Recording the songs was the logical next step.

The artists on the album include Jack White, Jeff Tweedy, Fun., and Norah Jones. Beck’s only contribution is on “Heaven’s Ladder,” which appears on the first half of the album.

The amazing thing about this album is if you don’t like the professionals’ version, you can go and record a better one yourself.

He has also joined with Warby Parker to issue Carmichael glasses frames in Beck’s favorite colors. That is, black cherry.

The glasses can be purchased online at warbyparker.com and at Parker’s stores, along with the music album.

All proceeds from the glasses and album go to 826 National, a program that helps kids with writing in the United States. And for each pair of glasses bought, one will be donated to someone through Parker’s Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.
