The 7th and final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ has gotten off to one hell of a ride and judging from the preview video for episode 3 that ride is about to get a whole lot bumpier.
Episode 3, aptly titled “Playing With Monsters,” airs tonight (Tuesday, September 23) at 10 P.M. (EST) on FX and will run an hour and fifteen minutes.
Those who want to watch online can watch through FX.com or with the FXNow App from the Google Play store or the iTunes App store, as long as their cable company is a participating provider.
Those who miss the episode can also catch the re-run, which will be shown immediately following at 11:20 P.M. (EST), or find it on demand usually within 24 hours of the original broadcast.
Based on the clip for this episode, it would appear that there are monsters lurking everywhere. It looks like the violence is going to escalate and no one is as they seem.
Jax (Charlie Hunnam), for instance, appears to be determined to continue down his path of destruction and is seen brokering an alliance with the Niners and talking about going to war.
Sadly, the fact that he is so hell-bent on revenge and can’t see anything else is putting his entire club in harms way, making him a “monster”, in a sense.
Then again, maybe it’s the Niners who are the monsters and will bring death and destruction to the club, hence the “Playing with Monsters” title.
Juice (Theo Rossi) is also featured in the clip: he is shown in a diner talking with Chibs (Tommy Flanagan), who viciously tells Juice he should take his gun, put it in his mouth and pull the trigger,
Now, why Chibs is saying that is unclear since that line is heard out of context, but it is startling to hear the venom in his voice, especially since he always looked out for Juice.
You could call Chibs a “monster” in a sense for that line, or you could see Juice as the monster since he not only helped Gemma (Katey Sagal), cover up Tara’s murder, but killed poor Sheriff Roosevelt as well.
Of course, the monsters could also be referring any of the other clubs or even Ron Tully (Marilyn Manson), who Jax still owes a favor to- you’ll just have to tune in to find out.
