We are almost at the halfway point of the 7th and final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and the burning question now is: between Juice, Gemma & Jax who is most likely to make it to the final ride?
While it’s possible that all 3 could make it- that scenario is highly unlikely, so now it’s a question of who has the best chance to live.
Fans have been speculating for months that Juice & Gemma were both definite goners, but that may no longer be the case.
Meanwhile Jax’s, who it was thought was a sure thing to survive, may not make it thanks to Gemma & Juice’s lies.
Juice (Theo Rossi), who pulled a gun on Gemma (Katey Sagal) at the end of last weeks episode when he realized she was going to kill him, may have a ticket to safety through the Mayans (or at least he thinks he does).
The promos for episode 6, “Smoke ‘Em if You Got ‘Em” shows him going to Alvarez and offering intel on SAMCRO in exchange for protection.
I’ve been saying since last year that Juice’s biggest problem is Juice: he makes stupid decisions and this one goes to the top of the list.
He should realize that going to Alvarez puts another target on his back: Alvarez is going to use him and then eliminate him- or let the club get him.
I get that Juice is desperate and scared (you can’t really blame him)but if he wants to live he better start thinking instead of just reacting.
You have to wonder why he refuses to leave town when leaving would almost guarantee his safety.
According to show creator Kurt Sutter we will get that answer as episode 6 reveals why Juice has been acting so erratically.
Regardless of why I think it will be a miracle for Juice to walk away alive.
As for Gemma, after last week episode she’s in even deeper. She’s now stranded on the side of the road with no way home(and she can’t exactly call Jax to come get her since she was supposed to be visiting her dad).
Episode 6 is when Lea Michelle appears as a truck stop waitress, so I’m guessing she will walk to the truck stop and have Unser (Dayton Callie) come bail her out- again, but that’s gonna be tricky for her too.
Unser is going to want to know what happened with Juice and even though Gemma thinks she has him wrapped around her finger, he is not stupid and will piece things together eventually.
Which is the real problem for Gemma- even if she covers up trying to kill Juice she can not hide the fact that she murdered Tara forever- there is too much connected to that cover-up for it to last.
Gemma appears to be living on borrowed time, but she is a true survivor, so she might find a way out of everything- although it may be a far from ideal ending.
Speculation is that Gemma is the bag lady that Jax sees from time to time, which would be a fitting punishment for all she’s done- she’d be alive but alone and with nothing.
Many are now fearing that it will be Jax (Charlie Hunnam) who pays the ultimate price for Juice & Gemma’s evil deeds and it’s easy to i=understand why.
Jax is now embroiled in a war with the Chinese and is anything but the peacemaker he once was- which is a recipe for disaster in the MC world.
Although he appears to be showing signs of life and starting to feel some emotions it may be too late for him to get it together and get off this path of destruction (although I hope not).
His anger and grief propelled him to go after the Chinese (and conspire against Marks & the other clubs), so there are a lot of people gunning for him now.
It would be a true injustice though, to have him be the one to die after seeing him struggle for so long to bring his dad’s dream of making the club legitimate to life
From the beginning that was all he really wanted – to have him turn from that and ultimately lose his life because of his own mother would be beyond messed up.
It would also be a bit too cliched for Sutter- from The Godfather to Carlito’s Way we’ve already seen characters who have died before they could go straight and get out of the life.
Besides, I don’t think that is the ultimate message he wants to send the fans. Beneath all the violence and sadness there has always been hope and there is no hope if Jax is gone and those boys lose both their parents.
Jax dying means Gemma’s legacy lives on- not JT’s and that doesn’t fit with what we’ve been seeing for 6+ seasons.
So I’m predicting that of the 3 Juice will be the one to die- what do you think?
