Sony to Release Limited-Edition Gray PlayStation 4

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of PlayStation last Dec 3, Sony will come out with a limited edition gray PS4 for a premium price of $499. Only 12,300 units are available worldwide and pre-order will start today, Dec 6.

This limited edition console has a vintage look and feel. Its DualShock 4 wireless controller complements the console with its 90s-era X, O, square and triangle buttons.

It also comes with the classic blue, red teal and yellow PlayStation logo and a stand to mount the console vertically. Other features include 500 GB storage capacity and a gray PlayStation camera.

The gray PS4 will be not available at Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop Amazon and other local stores. It is exclusively available at Sony Store.

PlayStation was originally a tandem between Sony and Nintendo. However, financial disputes forced these companies to part ways. Sony faced several setbacks before finally launching their first 32-bit console in 1994 and later on became the first ever to sell 100 million units worldwide.

Fast forward today, Sony continues to make big moves to make PS4 more attractive to avid gamers and gain advantage over its main competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox. There actually are rumours that they will get exclusive rights to the highly-anticipated Street Fighter 5. No confirmation yet as of this writing.
