Soon You Can Bring Your Dog to Dinner in California

A new law has just passed in California which will let people bring their dogs to restaurants.

People used to only be able to bring service animals out to dinner, but with the passing of this new law, anyone can bring their pet.

Dogs will be allowed in outdoor dining areas, like patios, but not inside the actual restaurant. Since dogs aren’t allowed in indoor dining areas, they will have to enter the patio through a separate door, not the main entrance.

The dogs will have to be leashed, and owners must pick up after their pets. Pets must also stay on the ground, and not be allowed to climb up onto chairs.

This law won’t force restaurants to let dogs onto the premises. Restaurants can choose whether or not to let dogs onto the patio, and many may choose not to allow them, instead of trying to enforce the new rules.

The law will take effect later this year.

What do you think about this new law? Are you excited to bring your dog to dinner, or annoyed that other people will soon be able to?
