The three-season Blu-ray set was originally released in 2009, a year after the same set came out on DVD. Both releases are remastered with updated CGI special effects, but the 20-disc Blu-ray set runs 4,120 minutes and contains more special features, including:
- Portuguese and Brazilian subtitles in addition to English, Spanish, and French
- DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio
- Pop-up trivia
- Special Tribbles disc with new commentary
Viewers can also toggle between the original 1960s special effects and the new CGI effects.
Despite the remastering, the full 4:3 aspect ratio of the original broadcast is preserved.
Nearly of Star Trek, with the exception of a few movies and without special features, is available on streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
