Star Wars Episode VII New Details and Dream Cast Discussion

Starwars.com announced principal filming for “Star Wars Episode VII”  will begin May 2014 at Pinewood Studios in London.

Disney and Lucasfilms also confirmed that the seventh installment, directed by J.J Abrams, will take place 30 years after “Return of the Jedi.”

The companies shared there will be “some very familiar faces,” including R2D2.  Rumors proliferate about the the three stars cast to fill new leading roles. While there is no official world, there are a few fun contenders.

Adam Driver of  HBO’s hit series “Girls” is one of the actors in the running according to Variety. Variety also reports Driver may be cast as a villain in “Star Wars Episode VII.” Driver is no stranger to dark characters.

His explosive, pessimistic character, Adam Sackler, is popular for his angry rants and pension for cynicism. A fan favorite of “Girls” enthusiasts, Driver could draw a new audience to the Star Wars franchise.

Another rumored possibility, “Breaking Bad’s” Jesse Plemons. Plemons played Todd,  a boyish looking murderer and meth cook,  in the AMC hit show. His deceitfully innocent face and his deadpan stare have the makings of a delicious villain, too.

“Star Wars Episode VII” will open in theaters December 18, 2015. In the meantime, who would you cast in “Star Wars Episode VII?” Share your dream cast in the comments section.
