As winter comes to an end, the days are gradually becoming warmer and longer, giving our skin increasingly more exposure to the sun.
In order to monitor the skin’s exposure to the sun, Netatmo has recently developed the JUNE, a gadget and companion iOS app that help measure the sun’s intensity.
What is unique about the JUNE, in comparison to other accessory-style tech products, is that it is geared predominately towards females.
The jewel-like gadget is available in platinum, gold, and gunmetal colors, and comes with a slim leather band so that it can be worn as a bracelet. The band is also detachable, which allows the jewel to be worn as a brooch as well.
The JUNE gadget itself does not have a screen, but relays all gathered information to the iOS app. The app then alerts the wearer when to apply SPF or wear a hat or sunglasses.
The app is not yet available for Android devices.
Although the JUNE has not been released to the public yet, the gadget and app both made an appearance in Las Vegas at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January of this year.
Engadget reports that the JUNE is hoped to be released in the second quarter of 2014, and will be sold for $99.
