BlackBerry has recently announced that it will not be renewing its licensing agreement with carrier T-Mobile when it ends on April 25.
This means that BlackBerry products will no longer be available through T-Mobile after this date.
In a blog post published yesterday T-Mobile CEO John Legere expressed his regret and stated that he is offering $100 credit for current BlackBerry users towards any new device including the BlackBerry Q10 or Z10.
This offer is valid through to the end of this year and doesn’t require users to trade in their old phone.
BlackBerry have stated that they will continue to support existing customers on the T-Mobile network and will look into other carrier partners for loyal BlackBerry users.
They have also said that they will continue to support customers who purchase products from T-Mobile’s remaining inventory.
The disagreement between T-Mobile and BlackBerry is believed to be the result of an advertising campaign run by T-Mobile last month which targeted BlackBerry users and suggested they switch to the iPhone 5.
After April 25, BlackBerry phones will still be available from Sprint Corp, Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc.
