Tablet Prices Continue To Drop – HTC Flyer Now $200 Less!

First of the big tablet pc price drops was theBlackBerry PlayBook whose price was dropped.

Today comes word from Best Buy that they’ll be dropping the price of the HTC Flyer tablet by $200. Previously priced at $499.99, starting tomorrow the tablet will be priced at $299.99. The price drop will apply to HTC Flyers sold from BestBuy.com, at Best Buy stores, and at stand alone Best Buy Mobile stores.

According to the announcement from Best Buy, this is a permanent lower price, not a sale.

The HTC Flyer is a tablet with a 7 inch touchscreen. It runs on Android 2.3. This version of the HTC Flyer connects to the internet through Wi-Fi. It has 16 GB of storage, two cameras, and is Bluetooth stereo enabled. It is rated 4.1 out of 5 stars on Best Buy’s website. Over on Amazon, where it is currently priced at $540, it is rated 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazon increased the downward price pressure on tablets earlier this week when they introduced their own brand name tablet, the Kindle Fire, at a price of $199. This may have been a factor in Best Buy’s decision to drop the price of the HTC Flyer.
