Tents And Pajamas Recalled For Flammability Issues

Two separate products were recalled today by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the companies involved with their distribution. Both products are being recalled due to issues related to flammability claims or standards.

One of the products is children’s sleepwear sold under the brand name P.Jamas. The recall includes approximately 4000 size XS and XL nightgowns and two piece shirt and pant sets. They were sold in boutique shops and at www.p-jamas.com, according to the recall announcement. They were sold from January 2006 through October 2010. The label on the pajamas have the brand name P.Jamas on them in blue lettering on a white background. The labels are sewn on to the center back of the pajamas. The pajamas come in a variety of pastel colors and in solid, striped or plaid designs. They are made of 100% cotton woven or knit.

The pajamas are being recalled because they do not meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. Consumers who purchased the recalled pajamas are being asked by the CPSC to immediately stop using them and to return them to the store where they were bought for a full refund. P.Jamas can be contacted directly for any questions about the recall, according to the announcement. Their number is 1-888-554-6495, their website is: www.p-jamas.com, and a contact email is contactus@p-jamas.com.

The second recall involves Active Leisure Tents sold through Costco.

Approximately 19,000 tents were sold that do not meet the flammability claim stated on the label. The tents being recalled are the Active Leisure 10’ by 10’ folding canopy tents. They have a metal frame which is covered by a white fabric. The item number 544803 is on the original box the tent came in, near the bar code. There were sold through Costco during the first two months of this year. The CPSC is asking consumers to immediately stop using the tents and to take them back to Costco for a full refund. The CPSC also said that consumers can contact Active Leisure for additional information, at 1-877-730-1583.

No injuries or incidents have been reported for either of these recalls.
