The Cadillac ATS-V – High Power, High Style, Small Package

Cadillac is bringing another pumped up street fighter to the roads in the form of the 2016 ATS-V. This model will be available for order this spring.

Like the BMW M3 is the more athletic little brother to the M5, the ATS-V could become the more sought after model in relation to the CTS-V.

The agile rocket will be powered by a 3.6L V6 with twin-turbos that will develop a grin inducing 464 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque.

A real 6-speed manual helps propel this rocket from 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 189 mph (299 km/h). The transmission features rev matching, no-lift shifting and launch control.

Not wanting to shun those uncomfortable with a clutch Cadillac offers an 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters and launch control.

The ATS-V is intended to be a dual purpose vehicle that will thrill you at the track and then usher you home in a luxurious cocoon of premium materials.

The ATS-V receives: Brembo performance brakes, the 3rd generation of magnetic ride control (now with 40% faster responses), integrated chassis control for track or touring and performance traction management, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that use three compounds to balance performance and longevity, a carbon fibre hood and an available aero kit to increase down force at track speeds.

When you inevitably embarrass a track record the ATS-V can be had with a performance data recorder. The system uses a high-definition camera to create videos, with data overlays, of their driving experiences on and off the track, and will enable you to gloat globally by sharing the results on social media.

The model is available in either sedan or coupe versions.

U.S. prices start at $61,460.00 for the sedan and $63,660.00 for the coupe.

Cadillac has once again proven to the world that it can create devastatingly good enthusiast cars. The only choice we are left with is 2 or 4 doors?
