As I hoped for, I got to see The Interview on Christmas day as initially promised by Sony.
The film, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, is available online to buy/rent at various streaming sites: Google Play, YouTube Movies, Microsoft’s Xbox Video and www.seetheinterview.com for $5.99.
I wanted to write up my review while the film is still fresh in my mind and as I’m letting it all marinade for a second.
I won’t bother going into great detail about what the film is about, but pretty much James Franco plays an entertainment news journalist who snags an interview with super fan and North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong-Un. The CIA asks Franco to kill him, and hilarity ensues.
Right off the bat it’s funny. Very funny actually. You’ll be laughing within seconds, and it holds up for most of the film.
Franco carries this film as he plays a naive, dumb comic relief, and Rogen plays somewhat of a straight guy, but still bringing his style of comedy to the screen.
With so much publicity, both bad and good, people will want to see it just to find out what all the hulabaloo was about. It’s definitely a fun movie.
Let us know if you saw it, or are planning to, and whether or not you loved or hated it.
