Timberman is making a big splash in the mobile game application market. Some people have been comparing the craze to the same hype generated with Flappy Bird hitting the app stores.
The jist of the game is to make sure to avoid any oncoming branches making their way down the tree as you chop it up.
As simple as it sounds, it’s frustrating when you can’t get past the first few rounds and throw your phone in despair, much alike the early stages of Flappy Bird.
Timberman encompasses the fact that it’s a simple, yet highly addictive, mobile game which can be played anywhere, during anything. It makes it a lead competitor with games like Flappy Bird and Angry Birds.
However, there’s something Timberman has that these other games don’t.
According to the owner of the game, the recent spike in downloads is largely thanks to Apple featuring as an Editor’s choice on the app store. Apparently 1 million of its 2.5 million downloads have come in the past three days since Apple made the decision.
It’s important to note, however, that there have been games in the past that have faced their fair share of wealth and popularity and then came crashing to a halt. Must I mention Flappy Bird?
Timberman can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store. If you’re wanting a little more out of the game, you can pay an additional 99 cents to receive the Gold Edition, which provides additional unlockable content.
