Borderlands 2 has shot to the top of the UK gaming charts, closely followed by F1-2012 and PES 2013.
An extensive ad campaign across both web and print media has reaped rich dividends for the game, leading to the best selling position.
Borderlands 2 is developed by Gearbox Software. The game was hyped long before it was actually released. There was a lot of speculation regarding the gameplay and just what the follow up to the very successful Borderlands would be like. Borderlands 2 has been critically acclaimed, and based on its top 10 ranking, it appears to have firmly established itself in the commercial market.
Codemasters, the developers of the F1 series of Video Games, should be very pleased to find that F1 2012 placed second, ahead of the very popular PES 2013. Konami may not be as pleased to see themselves in third place. The big surprise was the PS Vita’s Little Big Planet coming in sixth in the list, proving that the handheld market is alive and thriving.
FIFA 13 is expected to make a big splash when it’s released later this week. All eyes will be on Borderlands 2, watching to see if it can maintain its current number 1 ranking.
