Top Video Games For Christmas 2012

What are the top video games on kid’s (and some adult’s) Christmas lists this year?

Let’s take a look at several sources and find out!

Assassin’s Creed III tops PCMag’s video game list this Christmas. “Assassin’s Creed III stands as the best of the series, edging out even the excellent Assassin’s Creed II: Brotherhood,” wrote Jeffery L. Wilson of PCMag.

Assassin’s Creed III is set in the years before, during, and just after the American Revolutionary War. It’s designed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U,[8] and Microsoft Windows.

PCMag continues its list with Borderlands 2, followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Civilization V: Gods & Kings (an expansion pack for Civilization V), Darksiders II, Dead Island, Dead or Alive 5, Diablo III, Dishonored, Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Fable: The Journey, FarCry 3, FIFA Soccer 13, God of War Saga, Gravity Rush, Halo 4, Hitman: Absolution, Infamous Collection , Journey Collector’s Edition, Killzone Trilogy, LittleBigPlanet, Madden NFL 13, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, and Mortal Kombat.

Gamestop has also put out a top video games list. Theirs is simply the top 20 video games in alphabetical order. The list includes Borderlands 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Darksiders II, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Halo 4, Journey, Lego Batman 2, Madden NFL 13, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, NBA 2K13, New Super Mario Bros. U, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Persona 4, Pokemon Black Version 2, Sleeping Dogs, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Walking Dead, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

But when it comes to the most popular games by sales, Amazon is the kingmaker. The online super store has Halo 4 at the top of their video game best sellers list. Halo 4 is a first person shooter set on an alien world with hostile inhabitants. It is designed for the Xbox 360.

Amazon has the Nintendo Wii game Just Dance 4 listed as their second highest seller. Then (skipping over some non-games that made the list and repeats on different platforms) comes Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Assassin’s Creed III, Madden NFL 13, Just Dance: Disney Party, Far Cry 3, Dead Island Game of the Year Edition, and FIFA Soccer 13.
