“Nerds are sexy, and you’re all magnificent, beautiful creatures, but let’s try and keep this about the games, shall we?”
This is what Twitch had to say about dressing appropriately in its updated rules of conduct.
“Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing – including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments – is prohibited, as well as any full nude torsos, which applies to both male and female broadcasters.”
The live video streaming platform elaborates that streamers wishing to cool down by removing their tops need simply to crop the web camera in a way that does not expose the bits in question.
Twitch has not clarified exactly why they made this change to their rules of conudct, although it does come after a little more than two months since the streaming platform was acquired by Amazon.
Twitch has long banned sexually explicit content, but this acquisition could force Twitch to refine its broad rules of conduct in order to preemptively address the legal ramifications that could pop up now that they’re worth nearly $1 billion.
Think the new rules of conduct are just fine? Don’t like how Twitch being all Puritanical?
