Yesterday HBO announced the launch of two brand new series that are both set to premiere this holiday season.
“HBO’s Getting On” and “Lilley’s Ja’mie: Private School Girl” have been given an official launch date of November 24th.
Along with the announcement, HBO released trailers for each show to provide a taste of what can be expected from these two unknown quantities.
You can watch them below.
Lilley’s Ja’mie: Private School Girl
This particular show strikes me as an extremely awkward take on the typical American “high school queen” story.
The main actress is clearly quite a bit older that the rest of her peers (about 20 years older) and seems to be some kind of high school bully (likely enraged about still being in high school at age 40).
Based off of the trailer, this show seems to be a comedy that is somewhat reminiscent of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as it has a similar, quasi-reality show, feel to it.
HBO’s Getting On
Getting On, like Private School Girl, also seems to be a comedy and, if (HBO’s) history is anything to go by, it is sure to be an entertaining, if not an incredible, addition to the HBO family of products.
What do you think of the new HBO shows based on the trailers?
