HTC Thunderbolt was expected to receive Android 4.0.4 update last year, but that never happened.
Owners were left wondering and some even gave up on the hopes receiving an update, especially after the arrival of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for most pre-JB devices.
Users feared it’s going to be one of those devices that are considered obsolete in light of new models, but there’s good news for everyone who owns the device. HTC and Verizon posted a changelog last week, indicating the long awaited update was coming soon.
Though no exact date was mentioned for the roll out, it’s finally on its way, according to Android Central.
They’re reporting the update is rolling out over the air (OTA), but it’s rolling out at a slow pace, which means not everyone will get that golden update message today.
The file size has been reported at 400MB.
The update brings with it Verizon’s native services, HTC Sense 3.6, lock screen notifications, and much more.
Full details of the official changelog are available on Verizon’s website.
