Volkswagen Recalls the Tiguan due to fuel issues

151389 Volkswagen Tiguan cross over vehicles are being recalled. The affected model years are 2009-2014.

When winterized fuel is warmed, either by ambient temperature or while sitting in the fuel system of a hot engine, bubbles can form as the fuel vaporises.

This leads to “air” in the fuel system and stalling issues.

The recall was made as a preventative measure, meaning no accidents have yet occurred as a result of this fault.

The repair is a simple software update which will increase the fuel system pressure and prevent bubbles from inhibiting performance.

Volkswagen is covering the costs involved.
