Walgreens will be open on Christmas Day for the 2012 holiday season.
Shoppers will be able to purchase gifts and other necessities as well as pick up prescriptions at certain locations. Stores will still remain open 24/7 at 1600 sites.
Almost all stores will operate under regular hours on Christmas Eve. Pharmacy hours will be 9am – 5pm.
Walgreens’ non-24 hour stores will remain open from 9am – 6pm on Christmas Day. Pharmacies will remain open in 24-hour locations and other select locations.
Walgreens’ 24 hour stores will still be open around the clock on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Shoppers will find a variety of last-minute gift ideas as well as other Christmas necessities like wrapping paper, gift bags, and batteries.
Offerings include categories such as beauty and personal care, holiday entertaining, electronics, pets, photo gifts, and toys.
Walgreens is offering three gift giving guides to help shoppers with their selections. The guides are available in stores and cover photo gifts, entertaining, and healthy living. According to Walgreens, their goal is to make gift giving easier this year.
Walgreens’ website and mobile app offer the ability to create photo gifts, calendars, and canvas prints that can be ordered for same day pick up at a nearby store. In addition, photo gifts can be created at in-store kiosks.
Walgreens also carries a host of gift cards to other retailers including restaurants, spas, clothing, home improvement, electronics, gaming and music stores. Examples include Starbucks, iTunes, Disney, Bass Pro Shop, Old Navy, Lowe’s, Olive Garden, Macy’s, Best Buy, and PlayStation.
