If you are a fan of the series “The Walking Dead” you are probably feeling a little like the characters in the show: lost.

Yes, the show has started off the second half of the 4th season a little slow. The separation of the group has many viewers craving more and ultimately wanting the prison back.

But are these episodes really just the writers’ idea of a cruel joke or are they necessary to propel the show to new levels?

Every show goes through a lull period. Sometimes it is due to lack of ratings but sometimes, which is possible in the case of the zombie-laced show, the lull is really just a step into cementing the show into television history.

If you think about it, a lot has happened in the first four seasons.

Nearly a dozen main characters have been murdered (not to mention beheaded), a farm and a town have both burnt down, and the Governor has gone from crazy, to sane back to crazy, and finally dead.

The writers’ might think that the characters deserve a little downtime to gather their thoughts and get to know their inner zombie (because as we know…SPOILER ALERT…. everyone has the zombie gene inside them). Perhaps a little relaxation could be just what these characters need to get the energy and the action back.

In the last two episodes, they have really stepped it up.

They even had a preteen psycho kill her kid sister and then innocently proclaim, while holding a blood-soaked knife, that she was saving her.

Last weeks episode finally has part of the group finding their safe-haven. These two episodes may be a hint that the season finale is going to blow our minds.

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on tonight’s season finale?
