NBC kicks off the final week of Olympic coverage with a jam-packed prime time lineup.
It will showcase medal competitions in Men’s Alpine Skiing:Super-G (Gold Medal Finals), Women’s Snowboarding:Snowboard Cross (Gold Medal Final) and the Women’s Speed skating:1500M (Gold Medal Final).
Coverage begins at 7p.m. Eastern Standard Time and goes until 11p.m. The program will be re-broadcast from 12:30a.m. to 4:30a.m.
In the Men’s Alpine Super G event American Ted Ligety, the defending world champion, could make history if he wins. He would be the first American to ever win a gold medal in this event. He will have tough competition:besides fellow American Bode Miller he will also be facing Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, the defending Olympic super-G gold medalist.
The Women’s Snowboarding event will feature American Lindsey Jacobellis who is returning for her third Games and is strong contender for the gold medal. She previously won a silver in this event in 2006.
Finally, The Women’s Speed skating 1500M will showcase American Brittany Bowe. Bowe is ranked second in this event in the World Cup standings and is considered a favorite.
