Will o’ the Wisp – An Aurora Grimeon Tale – Review

Aurora Grimeon is orphaned and sent to live with her grandfather on Ossuary Isle after her parents misidentify some death-cap mushrooms.

On Ossuary Isle Aurora is shoved into a world where hoodoo traditions are alive and well.

Although she gets along great with the local hoodoo woman, many of the residents view her as bad luck.

Aurora didn’t arrive on the day she was supposed to, and ever since she did, people have started disappearing only to wash up later drowned in the swamps.

Throughout the story Aurora struggles to fit in and discover what’s causing the recent deaths on the isle.

Will o’ the Wisp is dark graphic novel about a young girl trying to find her place in the world.

It also serves as an introduction to, as author Tom Hammock puts it, a uniquely American form of magic.

This is filmmaker Tom Hammock’s and Megan Hutchison’s first graphic novel, the hardcover edition is listed on Amazon for $18.60.

According to his Amazon profile, Tom Hammock will be doing a book signing at 10:00 am on March 28th at the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle.

As a side note, on his bio Tom states that he does not eat mushrooms he can’t identify.

I received a digital copy of this book through NetGalley, Diamond Book Distributors and Archaia Entertainment in exchange for an honest review.
