Witcher 3 Dev Not Focused On ‘Resolution Or Frame Rate’

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s developers, CD Projekt RED have officially stated that resolution and frame-rate are not their goals at the moment.

Witcher 3 is set to be the sequel to the critically acclaimed Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, which is praised by many of its fans.

The difference of frame rate between the PC and console platforms has led to a small outcry by the fans of the series. Why did they not aim for 60 FPS (frames per second) on the consoles from the start of development? The developers give their answers:

“We don’t think like that,”  Michał Krzemiński stated. “When you have a vision to create an RPG that will leave a long lasting impression, you don’t think in terms of resolution or frame rate. You think of adventure, you think of living worlds, and the stuff you’ll be able to do in that world.”

They are not, however neglecting the graphical quality of the game whatsoever. They just want to focus on the gameplay and the story before focusing on “Technical aspects,” which the developers deem “secondary.”

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in May 2015.

What are your thoughts on the direction so far for this game? Do you feel that maybe they should focus on getting more frames over their current objective? Or do you find that their direction is justified?
