WOD Collector’s Edition: Preorders Open, But Is It Worth The Cost?

The much anticipated World of Warcraft expansion, Warlords of Draenor, will be available in a fully loaded Collector’s Edition.

This year, however, it will be more expensive than previous expansion Collector’s Editions at a steep $90.

The kicker is that the only extra in the Warlords of Draenor Collector’s Edition is a Hearthstone cardback. Otherwise, it offers nothing new compared to the last expansion, Mists of Pandaria.

While some World of Warcraft players may be outraged by this price increase, it likely will not deter them from buying the Collector’s Edition. If anything, the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, which only includes the digital bonuses of the Collector’s Edition, will probably see an increase in purchases.

The physical copy of the Warlords of Draenor Collector’s Edition includes: a behind the scenes DVD and Blu-Ray two-disc set, Warlords of Draenor soundtrack, The Art of Warlords of Draenor book, a special-edition mousepad, the full version of the game on DVD-ROM, and in-game content for all Blizzard games (World of Warcraft pet and mount, StarCraft II portraits, Diablo III pendant and a Hearthstone cardback).

A character boost to level 90 is included for all game versions.

The physical copy of the Warlords of Draenor Collector’s edition is currently available for pre-order.

Warlords of Draenor releases November 13, 2014. Mark your calendars.
